Space Systems Lab

Space Systems Lab provides a full range of space education solutions for high school, college, and higher education institutions. All aspects of cosmonautics are integrated into one kit of guidance materials and equipment.

Space professional navigation

High school students learn about various aspects of space engineering while working on realistic model problems

High-resolution space images

Processing of photographic material of Earth and other planets to a precision of 30 cm. An endless source of data for project activities

Planetarium in a classroom

A realistic spherical canopy of heaven as you see it with the naked eye is projected into an average room

Online simulator of
processes in space

Constructing a spacecraft, analysis of orbital maneuvers and landing on surface, ballistics, ensuring communication in space

Practical cosmonautics

Tenth- and eleventh-graders engage in project activity close to the real-life work of space engineers and scientists

Contests

Contests hardware and consulting

From paper rockets to real satellite launch!

Space Professional Navigation

Eighth- and ninth-graders learn about space science by solving model problems, and practice school subjects (Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Geography) as applied to cosmonautics

  • Rocket engineering: schoolkids design and launch a rocket model
  • Satellite power supply: schoolkids assemble a working model that allows charging a mobile phone with a solar battery
  • Sensors on the satellite: the stand automatically turns the solar battery towards the brightest illuminant
  • Actuation devices: creating static magnetic field and designing ways of orientation within it

And about ten more topics modeling real problems of space engineering

Orbita – the online simulator of space processes

A website where you can design and launch a spacecraft in realistic conditions

  • Spacecraft parameter analysis based on real components available on the market
  • Flight planning
  • Analyzing attractive force of stellar bodies
  • Analyzing atmospheric density and resistance
  • Analyzing speed and entrance angle of the reentry vehicle
  • Flight telemetry analysis for tracing of faults

Kubosvod – planetarium in a classroom

A system of projectors allows transforming walls and ceiling of a classroom into a spherical canopy of heaven

  • Digital planetarium in a classroom with a stellar map
  • Over 600 000 stars!
  • Possibility to show photos and videos in fish-eye and Video 360⁰ formats, as well as those created for showing with a spherical dish. This includes images and videos created by students themselves using their portable gadgets
True engineering!

High-resolution space images

Antenna kit to be positioned on a rooftop, capable of accepting satellite information even in real time

High-resolution space images provide endless data for students' project activities. Examples of projects implemented:

  • Evaluating consequences of forest fire season
  • Searching and mapping of softwood forests damaged by bark beetles
  • Searching for illegal construction sites in designated water areas
  • Identifying causes of the clearing of tropical forests

Practical cosmonautics

Practical tasks for tenth- and eleventh-graders, close to the real-life work of space engineers and scientists

Each task demands knowledge in several topical areas and requires a complex solution

  • The OrbiCraft Construction Set allows assembling a functional model of a real satellite
  • Modeling interaction and communication between several satellites
  • Tabletsat-Terra tester unit allows examining interactions between satellite and the Earth
  • Analyzing high-resolution space images: building neuronets
